In keeping with our bimonthly impact round-up, we are happy to share some of the successes we’ve had with our impact partners. These projects came as a direct result of initiatives brought to us by our team members. Here is a breakdown of what happened during July and August 2023.
Manila: Empowering Community Leaders Through Education and Technology
In the Philippines, Boldr recently collaborated with Smokey Tours, a non-profit organization offering eye-opening tours in Manila’s slums, markets, and cemeteries. When Fay Barraquias of Smokey Tours approached us with a request to provide basic computer training to two of their tour leaders from Tondo and Baseco, we gladly seized the opportunity to contribute. Demonstrating our belief in the transformative power of education and technology, Boldr donated a laptop to Smokey Tours, aiming to empower these dedicated leaders with essential digital skills. This initiative resonates with our continuous quest to create impactful opportunities, nurturing the potential of the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and leaders.
Manila: Transforming Lives with Clean Water in Tambubong, San Rafael, Bulacan
In August 2023, Eliezer Condor Jr. spearheaded a remarkable initiative named Aquarevive, aimed at making a tangible difference in the lives of remote Filipino communities. In these far-flung provinces, communities still rely on outdated hand pumps for their supply of clean and free water.
The heart of the project lay in the endeavor to replace an old hand pump with a modern Jetmatic hand pump, a transformational upgrade that would directly benefit the community of Tambubong in San Rafael, Bulacan. With this change, the lives of 10 families in Tambubong were significantly improved, providing them with reliable access to a vital resource that many often take for granted. Kuya Eli’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of these communities stands as a shining example of how small-scale efforts can create meaningful and positive impacts in the lives of those in need.
Tacloban: Celebrating Diversity and Inclusivity at the Tacloban Pride March 2023
Boldr made a resounding statement of support for the LGBTQIA+ community by participating in the vibrant Tacloban Pride March on June 25, 2023. Team members, including some in drag attire, fearlessly represented the company during Pride Night, while the Tranzact team joined in to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community. Beyond symbolic representation, Boldr backed its commitment with a generous donation of 10,000 PHP to DAHUM, an organization dedicated to advancing LGBTQIA+ rights. The Pride March was a dazzling display of color, love, and acceptance, demonstrating that unity knows no bounds. Together, with the LGBTQIA+ community, Boldr took a significant step forward in creating a world where every individual is celebrated for their true selves.
South Africa: Sponsoring Great Girls in Cape Town Through The Build A Habit Challenge
Boldr embarked on a transformative journey of self-improvement with its 21-Day Build a Habit Challenge, fostering personal growth and positive change among its team members. Starting June 5, individuals committed to cultivating new habits aligned with their personal goals, be it reading, exercise, mindfulness, or other aspirations. For each day of dedicated habit-building, Boldr pledged to make donations to non-profit organizations (NPOs), embodying their commitment to social impact.
The Cape Town (CT) office’s commendable effort resulted in raising an impressive 9,500 ZAR, which will be donated to Great Girls, a Cape Town-based NPO dedicated to uplifting Grade 11 and 12 schoolgirls from impoverished areas. These young girls are provided the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive program from June to October, featuring Saturday activities led by dedicated volunteer mentors and facilitators. Through the team members’ dedication, Boldr is able to sponsor 2 girls to engage in this transformative journey.
We are excited to keep the momentum going for 2023 and will keep our clients, partners, and team members informed of our efforts to effect real change in the communities in which we operate.
