From celebrating LGBTQIA+ communities to creating a safe space for children to explore and develop their social skills, Boldr's team members have been actively involved in projects across our global offices. This round-up showcases the impact of Boldr's efforts during the months of May and June 2024 in various locations, including Manila, Tacloban, and South Africa.
We're excited to share the stories of how Boldr is empowering individuals and communities around the world. Join us to see how our community impact monthly efforts are building a brighter future.
Global: Celebrating Diversity and Supporting LGBTQIA+ Communities with Pride
Boldr went all out for Pride Month this year, organizing a variety of activities that included webinars, game nights, a drag photo competition, film showings, and group discussions. These events not only celebrated the LGBTQIA+ community but also fostered a sense of inclusion and understanding among our team members.
Moreover, the Impact Team launched the Pride Month Impact Challenge which aimed to support LGBTQIA+ communities through engaging and meaningful activities. The challenge included a range of activities such as volunteering at an LGBTQ+ shelter, submitting a team photo of how your team embraces Pride, poster-making, reading a book, watching a movie, or listening to a podcast with an LGBTQ+ element.
For every activity a team member completed, Boldr made a donation to the following beneficiary organizations: Pride Shelter Trust (Cape Town), Babaylanes PH (Philippines), Fundación Arcoiris (Mexico), and pflag Canada (Canada).
After the festivities, we were thrilled to announce that we raised a total of 1,430 USD for our beneficiary organizations. This contribution will help these organizations continue their vital work in supporting and uplifting LGBTQIA+ individuals. Our Boldranians’ efforts and enthusiasm have made a real difference, and together, we continue to champion equality and inclusivity.
Tacloban: Launch of Boldr Corner Brings Hope and Opportunities to Babatngon
Last May, we proudly launched our first impact project in Babatngon, Eastern Visayas, Philippines called Boldr Corner. The recipient of this meaningful project is a community daycare center serving 21 amazing pupils. Boldr Corner is an impact project designed to share our core values with communities while addressing the most relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This initiative aims to provide young children with a safe space to learn, play, and engage with their peers, steering them away from excessive screen time on mobile phones at a very young age.
By offering a nurturing environment, Boldr Corner encourages children to explore their abilities and potential. The daycare center now boasts a dedicated space where children can develop skills, build friendships, and foster a love for learning.

Manila: Nourishing Communities Through A Feeding Program
Karinderya ni Mang Urot (cafeteria of Mang Urot)'s feeding program is an Impact project dedicated to nourishing a community with love, hope, and a sense of belonging. On June 29, we successfully kicked off the first of three feeding events headed by Ram Sabandal.
Thanks to the donations we received, we procured 27 whole chickens that were cooked and served immediately, providing hearty, nutritious meals to unhoused folks and beggars. The remaining chickens are reserved for the succeeding weekend feedings in Timog and Lawton, Manila, ensuring that our support continues consistently and reliably.
Manila: Boldr Shares Living Wage Journey at a Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue
Boldr is proud to be one of three companies represented at the "Living Wage Philippines: A Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Living Wages.” Alongside Eric Carpio and Marijo Endriga, Glo Guevarra had the privilege of sharing Boldr's living wage journey with an audience of over 50 representatives from diverse sectors, including government, private industry, civil society, academia, and international organizations.
This event provided a platform for exchanging insights and strategies on implementing living wages, highlighting the importance of fair compensation in promoting economic stability, and social equity. By sharing Boldr's experiences and practices, we aimed to inspire and collaborate with other organizations committed to ensuring that employees receive wages that meet their basic needs and support their well-being.
Manila: Empowering The Youth of Streetlight Philippines Through Technology
On June 9, Boldr made a significant impact by donating depreciated devices to our partner organization, Streetlight Philippines. The donated items included 6 desktop units, 6 monitor units, 6 keyboards, 6 mouse units, 6 AVR units, 6 HDMI cables, and 12 power cables. This equipment will benefit 154 student beneficiaries, providing them with the tools they need to enhance their learning and technological skills.
During this project, three team members from our IT department collaborated to introduce Streetlight's children and youth to a new e-sports lab, generously donated by Boldr. They also shared their expertise in technology setup and maintenance, e-sports game download, and setup.
This project is more than just about providing equipment; it's about fostering an environment where young minds can explore, learn, and grow, ultimately contributing to a brighter future for the community.
South Africa: Boldr's Veggie Patch Thrives at Littlewood Primary School
Just a check-in from the Veggie Patch our ZA Boldranians started in February of this year at Littlewood Primary School in Eastridge, Mitchells Plain. Our green thumbs Olivia Nkulu, Sakeena Jeftha, and Kamielah Meyer, along with school caretakers Simone and Ricardo, have been coming together every Monday morning to learn and plant seedlings in the sustainably made trench beds, thanks to the fantastic training provided by Soil For Life.
Our team faced challenges due to weather conditions; however, these experiences taught us valuable lessons on protecting our precious seedlings and we are incredibly proud of the progress our veggie patch has made, with each vegetable growing into full bloom. The school has been able to sell local, organic produce to staff and the community, generating funds for essential upgrades. Additionally, the vegetables grown will contribute to the soup kitchen we are launching soon as part of our Winter Soup Drive.
South Africa: Supporting Hopolang Combined School Learners with Meals During Exam Prep
Our Cape Town Impact team extended their support to a class of underprivileged Grade 8 and 9 learners from Hopolang Combined School in Khayelitsha. The 40 students attended holiday consolation classes to prepare for their exams, and many of them do not have access to three meals a day.
Understanding the importance of proper nutrition for effective learning, Boldr supplied the students with lunch during their classes. This initiative aimed to keep the learners motivated and focused on their studies, ensuring they had the energy and nourishment needed to succeed.
