Boldr partnered with OneChild to support 42 Dumagat children living in Sitio Karahumi, an indigenous community in the Philippines. Due to industrial undertakings, the Dumagat tribe had been displaced from their ancestral land.

The collaboration aimed to establish a satellite Hope Center within the community, operated by the Blessed Church of the Nazarene, to address the needs of the children and their families, such as education, nutrition, healthcare, and spiritual development. Through these initiatives organized by Boldr and OneChild, the goal is to improve the lives of the Dumagat tribe and help them overcome the challenges they face.

In partnership with OneChild’s Walk With Us campaign, Boldr’s Outdoor Bike Challenge occurred during World Bicycle Day in June 2021. Each participant donated $1 for every kilometer biked, resulting in an amount of $5,109 raised. This incredible contribution helped support 50 new children who recently joined the OneChild program and received assistance from the dedicated Child Champions at the Blessed Kids Hope Center.

Many events were conducted throughout that same year to benefit the Dumagat and Tagalog children such as a gift-giving event and a Jollibee kiddie party during Christmas 2021 and 2022. In February, Child Champions cooked the children food and organized coloring activities. Later in the year, there were dental check-ups, family engagement sessions, and distribution of rice and vitamins.

As schools reopened in August, the children received basic school supplies such as plastic envelopes, pad paper, notebooks, coloring pencils, glue, etc. During Hope Center’s anniversary, OneChild wanted the Dumagat children to have a memorable experience and took them to Kidzooona. In this indoor playground, they enjoyed engaging in interactive play, which created a positive impact on the children’s cognitive, physical, socio-emotional, and spiritual development, as highlighted in OneChild’s 2022 report.

Boldr’s ongoing partnership with OneChild Philippines demonstrates a strong commitment to social responsibility and making a positive difference in the lives of those in need. Our team members’ participation in our Impact projects is one of the many steps we are taking to ensure that our communities have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
