Tacloban is part of our community. Streetlight is part of how we show up.
Boldr has deep roots in the Philippines, and Tacloban is home to one of our offices. Many of our team members have lived the reality of storm seasons, displacement, and rebuilding with limited safety nets, especially outside major cities.
That’s why we partner with Streetlight, an NGO in Tacloban City supporting children and families together, not as a one-time campaign, but as an ongoing relationship.
We visit Streetlight often, almost every week, because being present matters and the mission hits close to home.

Our commitment
Every month, for every team member we hire, we donate to support Streetlight’s work. As our team size changes, our monthly donation changes too; it scales with our growth.
This is one of the ways we make sure our growth stays connected to the people and place we’re building with.

Why Streetlight
Streetlight’s work is family-centered. When we spend time with their team, we’re reminded that the goal isn’t to help kids in isolation or create dependency. It’s to restore faith in family.
That shows up in how Streetlight invites parents and caregivers into the work: building, cooking, joining committees, contributing ideas, and participating in what the community is creating together.
It also shows up in a hundred small moments that don’t translate cleanly into a “case study,” but tell you everything you need to know about the spirit of the place.
Sometimes it’s a conversation with staff about what kids need most right now. Sometimes it’s seeing how carefully they think about dignity and belonging. Sometimes it’s being welcomed like family; offered something simple and heartfelt, like tea they grew, dried, and brewed themselves.
That’s not the point, exactly. It’s just one example of many. The point is: this is real, sustained, relational work, and we’re proud to be close to it.
Why this matters to Boldr
Tacloban isn’t a pin on a map for us. It’s coworkers, neighbors, and the families behind our team members.
This partnership is one way we keep showing up with money, yes, but also with time, energy, and skills.
If you work with Boldr, you’re not just choosing an outsourcing partner. You’re choosing to build with a team that’s invested in the communities that power the work.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Boldr collect donations for Streetlight?
No. We direct donations to Streetlight’s website so your support goes where it’s intended.
Can my company help beyond donating?
Yes. Skills-based volunteering can create outsized impact. IT support and staff enablement can often be done virtually, while work directly with kids tends to be most effective in person.
